Cost Analysis
Cost analysis is equally part of projects that are already
concluded as well as the calculation of new ships. costfact supports both
alternatives and is able to unite the information from different systems
containing cost data (e.g. ERP or CAM systems) and show the cost in a tree view,
according to the ship’s structure. Manual cost aggregations are no longer
necessary.
costfact supports the cost analysis through a number of
performance features (examples):
|

|
-
Concurrent calculation accompanying the production process:
Comparisons of planned and actual data with reference to the different
levels of the ship’s structure.
-
Determining the
cost drivers that have the biggest influences on these costs at the different structure’s levels.
-
Calculation of the cost of changes made by the customer after
the project start.
-
Several cost filters enable the user to deduce the different
cost components separately.
-
Cost Benchmarking, even between different types of ships.
-
Calculation of function costs
(e.g. "transport wares", "enable loading and unloading", "reach required speed"
etc.).
-
Analyses of concluded projects to
improve new cost forecasts by comparing the technical and economic
characteristics of existing objects and by calculating indices which can be used
in the process of cost estimation.

In light of the fact that some shipyards will not wish to
abruptly replace their existing systems, costfact can also be used solely as a
reporting tool in the basis version. Once costfact has been connected to the ERP
system and existing table calculation files, it consolidates the various data,
structures and prepares them and displays them automatically according to the
user query.
